What you’ll do:
As the Director - Marketing Operations at FedTech, you will own the marketing function, with a focus on elevating client delivery through high-impact marketing while also driving brand growth. You will operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor shaping our marketing strategy, optimizing internal processes, and guiding junior staff. This role is ideal for a seasoned marketing leader ready to make a visible, lasting impact on FedTech’s growth while strengthening its presence and influence across the tech, innovation, and defense ecosystems.
Typical functions include:
- Own and drive the marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals across programs, partnerships, and thought leadership
- Identify strategic opportunities to elevate brand positioning, storytelling, and influence across tech, innovation, and defense sectors
- Lead and manage the marketing function across program operations marketing (supporting entrepreneur-facing programs) and growth marketing (focused on business expansion)
- Collaborate closely with client delivery teams to tailor marketing strategies that advance client goals and project success
- Serve as a cross-functional connector between marketing, program delivery, and growth to ensure consistent, impactful messaging
- Lead development of executive-level content, including decks, reports, and narratives for clients and partners
- Shape and refine marketing team structure, communication norms, and internal workflows to boost effectiveness
- Coach and mentor junior staff, setting clear performance expectations and supporting professional growth
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in marketing strategy, marketing operations, and content development
- Hands-on leader with a proven ability to grow professional services businesses through effective marketing execution
- Proven ability to establish and lead a marketing function from the ground up
- Experience in government/tech sectors, ideally with a track record of supporting complex client delivery through marketing
- Adept at balancing strategy and execution, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to lead and develop junior staff
- A compelling communicator with excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling abilities
- Comfortable using platforms like HubSpot, Canva, and other marketing tools to manage content and campaigns
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree

Compensation:
- Base salary range - $150-175k/year
- The salary range listed for this position is based on market data and internal compensation structure. The final compensation package will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and education. This range is not a guarantee of compensation and offers may fall outside this range in exceptional cases.
- In addition to the base salary, compensation includes performance-based bonus (OTE) and ability to earn equity

Location:
Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in person at our headquarters in Arlington, VA, and 2 days remote).
